Arrival Instructions from Marco Polo International Airport

Upon arrival at Marco Polo International Airport, proceed to the departure level and follow the signs for “Trasporti via acqua / Water Transport”. Facing the main exit, turn left and walk to the end of the hall, passing the car rental booths and the departure lines on your left.

At the end of the hall, take the long covered walkway. Continue straight, passing over a series of moving sidewalks, until you reach the escalators leading down to the piers. From here, you have two options:

1.
Public Water Bus (“Alilaguna” Blue Line):

Take the Alilaguna Blue Line water shuttle from the airport dock

Runs hourly from 5:20 AM to 12:20 AM, and every 30 minutes between 8:20 AM and 8:20 PM (timetable here)

Get off at “
Arsenale” (travel time: approx. 1h15, 💶 €15 per person one way)

Turn right, cross the bridge, walk about 50 meters along the shore — Porta da Mar will be on your left.

2.
Private Water Taxi:

Take the private taxi from the airport dock (just before the Alilaguna dock, you can purchase a ticket directly from the office)

Available 24/7 (but may be difficult after midnight). No advance booking is required, but it’s recommended during peak times (and from midnight to 6am).

Approx. €150 (one way) for up to 4 passengers and 4 pieces of luggage.

Ask to be dropped at Arsenale or at the stairs near "Palasport Arsenale on Riva San Biasio".

Arrival Instructions from Treviso “Antonio Canova” Airport:

Take the ATVO shuttle bus to Venice (Piazzale Roma).

Buses run from 7:30 AM to 10:20 PM, travel time approx. 1h10.

From Piazzale Roma, take ACTV Line 4.1 or Line 1, and get off at “Arsenale”.

Turn right, cross the bridge, walk about 50 meters along the shore — Porta da Mar will be on your left.

By Water Taxi

If you choose to take a private water taxi from the airport, train station, or anywhere in Venice during your stay, please contact us in advance so we can provide instructions to the taxi driver.

By Train

Arrival Instructions from Venezia Santa Lucia Station

Take ACTV Line 4.1 (approx. 30 min) or Line 1 (romantic route along the Grand Canal – approx. 50 min).

Get off at
“Arsenale”, then turn rightcross the bridge, and walk about 50 meters — Porta da Mar will be on your left.

Alternatively, you may opt for a private water taxi directly from the train station to the villa, which is a convenient choice, particularly if traveling with a larger group. Follow the instructions above.

By car and Steamboat

Venice is a car-free city. The final point accessible by car is Piazzale Roma, located near the train station and cruise terminal.
You have two main options for parking:

Autorimessa Comunale (Piazzale Roma)

Over 2,000 parking spaces across 6 levels
Slightly more affordable than private garages, but it fills up fast — booking in advance is strongly recommended, especially during high season.

Once parked:
Take ACTV Line 4.1 (approx. 26 min) or Line 1 (scenic route – approx. 53 min)
Get off at “Arsenale”, turn right, cross the bridge, and walk about 50 meters — Porta da Mar will be on your left

Tronchetto Parking (Isola del Tronchetto)

Located at the end of Ponte della Libertà, the long bridge connecting Venice to the mainland
Offers 4,000 covered spaces and 500 for buses/campers
The cheapest option, connected via vaporetto or the People Mover light rail to Piazzale Roma

Once parked:
Take the People Mover to Piazzale Roma, then:
Take ACTV Line 4.1 or Line 1 to “Arsenale”
OR
From Tronchetto, take ACTV Line 2 (via Giudecca Canal) to San Zaccaria
Walk 10 minutes toward Arsenale, or take Line 4.1 or Line 1 to “Arsenale”
Then turn right, cross the bridge, walk 50 meters — and Porta da Mar will be on your left
